In 1961, G. Bourne Knowles and Company began as a tree and landscape service with two crews and three trucks. Operating from a location on Smith Neck Road in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts, we offered the personal and professional service that the people of Southeastern Massachusetts have come to expect.

In 1968 a small greenhouse operation became available on 42 acres on Route 6 in Fairhaven and G. Bourne Knowles and company moved to its current location.

In 1973 we opened a retail garden center and nursery division and 1976 saw the addition o the floral and craft shop as well. For 18 years, we enjoyed providing these many services to our loyal customers and the general public.

As competition increased from "big box" outlet stores, the Knowles Family was forced to make the difficult decision to close the wholesale greenhouses, retail garden center and floral shop in 1994.
Our tree and landscape division, however, continues to operate and grow, providing quality workmanship at reasonable cost, and striving to maintain excellent long-term relationships with our clients.
