History
In 1961, G Bourne Knowles & Co. began as a tree and landscape service with two crews and three trucks, operating from a location on Smith Neck Road in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts. From the beginning, we offered the personal and professional service that our customers in the entire South Coast area have come to expect.
In 1968, a small greenhouse operation became available on 42 acres on Route 6 in Fairhaven and G Bourne Knowles & Co. moved to its current location.
By 1973, we opened a retail garden center, floral shop and wholesale nursery. For the next 18 years, we provided these services to our loyal customers, but with increased competition from the big box stores, we made the difficult decision to phase out all but the trees and landscape divisions.
Where are we now?
Our tree and landscape division, however, continues to operate and grow, providing quality workmanship at reasonable cost, and striving to maintain excellent long-term relationships with our clients. We now serve the South Coast, Cape Cod, & the Islands.
